Hi Guys,
I am a new owner of an A7 Shooting Star and am trying to identify the frame number. The engine makes sense: CA7 SS621x (x being another number), but the frame number is five digit: FA7 1373x. Can anyone shed some light for me please?
I have had a look at the excellent article on the frame/engine numbers provided, but it does not indicate why I have five numbers.
Thanks for any help.

The FA7 frame series ended at just over FA7 16000 in September 1959. So a lot of FA7 numbers with 5 digits.

Not sure what the issue with with 5 digits?

The series included A7 standard, A10 Golden Flash and A10 Super Rocket all in the same sequence.

To add to Julian's comment ... a quick look in despatch books has 3 possible A7SS machines which could match your numbers if engine not changed (depending on the value of "x" .... this is starting to sound like a maths lesson!!!).  If you PM me with the full numbers, I'm sure I could do a quick check to put your mind at rest.

Thank you Gents for your prompt response.
Jullian, I am showing my ignorance, from the BSA frame decode that I looked at it seemed that the frame numbers were only 4 digits until after 1959.
Jabba, pm on the way. Thank you so much gents.
