Hi, My 1954 S/A immediately followed yours, but I kept the attached from a 2018 calendar and may assist.  I hope it comes out OK, I have had to re-size a lot to fit it in.  It is interesting with the cut-away views anyway.  There are also the two Roy Bacon books, BSA Twin Restoration and BSA Twins and Triples, and of course the Vintage Motor Cycle Club Ltd all of which have plenty of info and pics.

The NRU series was used between September and November 1953.

The 1954 season started in September 1953 and the 1954 A10 plunger starting at engine number BA10 7001.

So your bike may be 1954 season.

The main change for the 1954 season plunger was the introduction of the big fin barrel and head.

Hi, my bike was delivered to Bob Foster's Parkstone Dorset on the 30th September 1953 and was from a series issued between September 1953 and November 1953 and first registered 12/11/1953 at Bournemouth County Borough Council, so just wondered if anyone has any further knowledge, owners etc of my particular bike, thanks for replies,

You may find brief information in the old Bournemouth Borough Council motor tax records. These are held at the Dorset History Centre;
