C15 kick start shaft

Hi all,

I am currently assembling my 1965 C15F engine & it seem the previous owner has had problems with the cotter pin & has resorted to welding the slot.
I can tig weld the slot better than it is & then file it to the correct profile but wondered if anyone has a good one they can measure the slot depth & width on for me as I want to get it right.
