I've got the 1961 A10 off the bench running, the last issue is the clutch.
I have fitted an SRM complete clutch and when first fitted all seemed Ok. Now with full lever on
with full adjustment at lever, timing side, drive side and the clutch plate screws showing 1 turn, I can JUST pull the back wheel round in gear. Either I have cut the push rod too short or I need the shorter TRIUMPH clutch plate cups and springs.  Which option should take or is there a third way.

Hi,

Disconnect the cable and turn the adjuster in the gear box completely out. This will eliminate the pushrod and if you can still turn the wheel ie clutch slipping, then the problem is in the clutch. Firstly try turning the adjusters in a turn each.
I would assume that SRM have supplied the right clutch but to check the cups, take one out and measure its depth and compare it to the distance from the pressure plate in to the clutch centre.
As the action of the clutch lifts the cups they only have to not bottom out plus a bit to allow for clutch plate ware.

With the cable disconnected in gear, the back wheel will not move. So I am happy the clutch is OK.  I have rebuilt it again and the wheel moves better with the clutch in. It is all new so I'll give it a spin and see what happens.
Thanks for your help Dave.
