Hello all - the bike i've taken on to restore is missing a number of parts and i'm having real difficulty locating the complete Lucas contact breaker assembly (54419097) and the gearchange quadrant (68-3294). Any suggestions will be very welcome - and is it possible to use a later contact breaker or will only the original one do the job?

Thanks for advice, Mike

Curious.  The points are the same for the BSA, Triumph and Norton twins, just a standard twin Lucas set up. But they are selling for £120 on e-bay which is madness.  These were made of cheese and all the screw heads round off, you can see it clearly on the ones for sale.  Just about everyone (including me) threw them away and fitted electronic ignition, especially on the A65 as they rev higher.  They were a terrible design with hardly any space to adjust and stupid little nylon insulators, to pay more than £1 for a set is an insult ;D   You could probably get a used electronic set up complete for less than a set of points with rounded of screws.
