I'm having to replace the headlamp switch on my 1954 A10 Golden Flash. I can see it's held in position by a large wire 'circlip'. Any advice out there before I have a go at it please?

There are grooves on the switch for the clip to fit into. The clip is slightly curved so that when located in the switch grooves it grips the headlamp shell. Easy to fit.

Look after the old clip.  Some of the new switches come with a clip that's almost impossible to fit.

These switches are pretty basic and easy to service. Is your switch repairable? Photo of the big knob version attached. Don't lose the little spring that operates the brass 'piston'. Clean any dirt and grease from the contacts and lightly grease the moving parts on reassembly.
