I have seen two options.  1.  All black rims and spokes.  2.  Chrome rimes with painted centre around nipples holes with bright spoke.  Which is correct?  If painted centres, then what colour, my tank is a original green colour with red pinstripes.

Out of curiosity (I'm avoiding some paperwork...) I just tried a google images search on BSA G14.  Threw up a lot of decent images and some original sales adverts.  Majority are black but there's quite a bit of variation. Would not surprise me if BSA went away from chrome in'39 as they would be gearing up for war.

I have owned several pre war BSA's since the mid 1970's & a friend had a 1938 G14. As far as I am aware ALL pre-war BSA's had black painted rims. Early post-war used chrome with some models having the centre of the rim painted.

According to the 1939 catalogue chrome with matt silver centres,

Thanks everyone.  Decision time for me.
