M21 TANK

I have just acquired a M21 in a million bits  ,the fuel tank on it seems to be from a earlier model  it has two  threaded holes  in the side to locate  what looks like a possible hand gear change and a square   hole half way down the tank  for the rest of the mechanism ? ,is this of any use to anybody  ,I need  a tank for a 1958
