For anyone attending the Manchester Camp 29/8/25 to 31/08/25 please be aware of the following road closure:

As a result of a landslip the road leading to Dent from the B6255 Ingleton to Hawes road is closed.
The road from Sedbergh is not affected but there appears to be no diversion signs from Hawes.

There are still four other routes into the village - from the North: one via Sedburgh, and one from Garsdale head (station) on the A684 (narrow parts).  From the South there are two routes - the gated road (but can be difficult cambers and hard work if alone) from Thornton in Lonsdale (Ingleton) and one from Casterton / Barbon (Kirkby Lonsdale) the latter being the best in my opinion.

A solo bike without panniers etc. could probably get through the blocked road, there are concrete blocks on the road near the viaduct.

The main thing though is that both the village pubs remain open.
