1964 C15 with 1961/62 engine number 24718.

I can find no pictures, phots or parts drawing with the outer cover the same as mine in the photo.
It has an access cover just behind the kick start which unscrews to reveal the end of the clutch cable and mechanism.
I can't see this anywhere else or am I missing something?  Is it from another model?

Hi,

A previous owner must have undertaken this modification.  I have seen this before and indeed I have just done this on my wife's '62 C15.
Why BSA thought it was a good idea to have to remove the gear lever, kickstart and a cover to change a clutch cable we will never know.

BSA introduced a modified cover with screw in plug. See below parts bulletin from 1963.

Hi,

Well I have learnt something today.  I must look more closely in future.

Thanks for replies, info and phot proof there are others out there!

The parts bulletin from JulianS explains why part numbers on parts list remained the same and obviously they didn't bother/need to actual depict the modified cover in their parts diagrams or maybe that was just to confuse me 60 years later!
