DBD34 with Mikuni

Hi everyone can anyone give me some pointers on where to start with my 500 Clubman's Goldie It is running a Mikuni carb supplied new by Phil Pearson but as soon as I take the choke off it will not run, it spits back from the carb and dies unless I quickly put the choke back on Help please, many thanks Chris

Sounds like the pilot jet is blocked . needs a strip down and jets cleaned out .

Yep.  Presume that you have had it running properly before?  Has it been standing idle with fuel in the tank and carb?
