Just wondering, since I've got the tank off...

Is it usual to have the end of the rear tank mounts chopped off at 45 degrees?

Am I right in thinking the bit of small diameter tube nearest the right top corner of the photo is a later addition?

Is the other bit of small diameter tube (nearer the centre of the photo) supposed to have the ends cut off at 45 degrees?

The tank mounting lug cut off at 45 degs.

If its the same problem as my plunger B31 its to give greater clearance to the petrol tap union when refitting the tank.

Ahah! The tank I have on the bike now has its tap in front of the mount. A previous tank must have had two taps, as the mount has been cut on both sides.
