ALBEIX

Hello, and thank you for allowing me to join this forum.

My name is Al Beix. I live in Kaslo, BC, Canada. I have  recently come into possession of a 1952 BSA 250 Single in decent cosmetic condition. (IE not beat up and complete) So first thing to do was remove the left chain cover to replace the gasket and clean it out. Upon opening it out we find a nasty surprize of several bits of chewed up metal and a partially destroyed plate that we assume is some sort of Stator cover. Also find that the generator rotor holding nut is finger tight and the locking washer that is supposed to have a tab bent against a flat on the nut is missing the tab.

In looking at parts manuals I have not been able to locate the plate in any exploded views.  I attached photos FYI.

Anyone that can offer insight or info (Links, advise or whatever) would be greatly appreciated.

Also am I correct to assume this bike is wired with Positive ground???
