Hallo allerseits,

Hi Christoph,

I though a translation would be useful.

"Hello everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself briefly: My name is Christoph and I live in the deep south of the republic near the Swiss border. I have been driving an M20 for several years, which was imported from Pakistan and estimated by the TüV to be built in 1943. Of course, there were no papers available, so it was solved that way at the time. Also, it does not have a W in the chassis - or engine number, according to my previous research, spare parts were probably assembled here into a complete motorcycle.

Unfortunately, I also have a problem where I don't know what to do:

For me, the oil flow (return) is interspersed with air bubbles. I never noticed that before, I think it wasn't like that in the past. Since my oil lines are interrupted with a piece of transparent plastic hose and I have now renewed them after a long time, you can see the air bubbles in the return. Also, the oil pressure (I think) is not very high, when I take out the check valve in the camshaft cover and let it run, I can easily hold the opening with my thumb.

So my question would be, is that so "normal" or do I have a problem with the oil pump? Of course, I don't want to break anything, but I don't dare to drive anymore...

I would be very grateful for any relevant information."

Hello everyone,
I wanted to introduce myself briefly:
My name is Christoph and I live in the deep south of Germany near the Swiss border. I have been driving an M20 for several years, which was imported from Pakistan and estimated by the TüV to be built in 1943. Of course there were no papers, so it was solved that way at that time. Also it does not carry a W in the chassis or engine number, according to my earlier research spare parts were probably assembled here to a complete motorcycle.
Unfortunately, I also have a problem where I do not know what to do:
The oil flow (return) on my bike is riddled with air bubbles. I never noticed this before, Iin my opinion  this was not the case in the past. Since my oil lines are interrupted with a piece of clear plastic tubing which I have now replaced  after a long time, you can now see the air bubbles in the return. Also, the oil pressure (I think) is not very high, if I take out the check valve in the camshaft cover and run it, I can easily hold the opening with my thumb.
So my question is, is this  "normal" like this or do I have a problem with the oil pump? Of course I don't want to break anything, but I also don't dare to drive anymore....
I would be very grateful for any relevant information.

Hi Dave, is everything translated automatically? I´m sure I sent the text in English the seccond time....

DAVE BRADY

Hi Christoph,

Translation is not automatic.
There is a section of the Forum for singles so it may be best to post there and there are plenty of members who have good knowledge of M20 models.
