HI everyone

I am about to pull the trigger on a A10, which is running and has papers (i'm in South Africa), however i am having difficulty in checking that the engine and Frame are from the same year
engine:DA1014874
Frame:GA722842

I think ::) i am seeing the engine and frame from different years? Any help with this from the forum would be greatly appreciated.

This is what i have gleaned for the gold flash??
A10 1962
A10 GOLDEN FLASH   DA10   17181   GA7   21120
The tank is wrong and the headlight nacelle is missing along with the for shrouds, but i have started it (2nd kick after many months standing)
so that sounds great

If i am reading it right the frame is an earlier model?

I am also currently busy restoring a A65 which i will be sure to post up shortly

Thanks for the help

At face value, a 1962 season bike with a 1961 season engine. Only the BSAOC dating guys will be able to tell you whether it left the factory like this.

The frame is from a 1962 bike - a number of A10 Police bikes were exported to South Africa in 1962 - these were grey finish - any trace of grey paint?

The engine is 1961 season.

I will send you a personal message.
