Hi everyone, I'm trying to set my clutch, having fitted, new springs, any advice gratefully received

Having refitted my clutch several times, i like to do the nuts up by hand so they are all a similar setting.
Jump on the kickstart and it will slip, so tighten a bit and keep repeating until there is no slippage.
Now use the depth gauge part of a vernier to tweak all the nuts until the plates are coming out evenly (I strap the handlebar clutch lever so the clutch is pulled in while I use the vernier).
This works for me, but no doubt someone will be along shortly to provide the proper way....

This has worked for me, too. I find I had to release the clutch lever while I tweaked the nuts, then strapped the clutch lever again when I checked with the vernier; repeating the process until I was happy. I'm not sure if this is what Mark N. meant.
