Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone can steer me in the right direction I need some valves (inlet and exhaust) for my 1929 BSA sloper s29 OHV 500cc twin port I can't measure the valves without taking the cyl head off but have done some searching and have come up with the sizes as follows — head dia 1"3/4 —-stem dia 3/8" and length 3"15/32" if someone can confirm these sizes that would be a great help also is there somewhere I can purchase these from ? This is for my spare twin port cyl head that I want to build up and fit I got it with the bike but it had no valves or springs

Hi

Mark Quillan had a batch earlier in the year.

If he doesn't pick up on this I suggest that you PM him.

Hi Fabio
Mike got my surname wrong which is why you couldn't reach me ,unfortunately I've sold all the valves I had they were £85 + postage for a pair, to the best of my knowledge there not available anywhere. I'm considering have another batch made so if yourself or anyone reading this would be interested in a pair please let me know . If there's enough interest  I'll invest the money and get them made . They may cost a little more as prices of most things seem to be going up by the  day in this country . I'm also considering having another batch of gasket sets made again please register an interest if required

Hi Mark.

Getting your name wrong is totally inexcusable so would you kindly accept my apologies.

Glad you managed to sell that whole batch. I must say the guy at G&L?? is very cooperative.

Hi Mark

Sloper situ is fairly static. Bottom is done and feels very smooth. Crank rebuilt from bottom up Head is done .Guides and seats with new valves.

The piston is in Germany being reprofiled should be finished in the next 2/3 weeks. Super Co to deal with but they are having staffing problems with their workforce running at about 30%. (Herr Klaus Wahl, the manager/owner?? speaks excellent English and is quite happy to discuss things on fone.)
Once I get that back then we can have the cylinder relined and bored to suit the piston. At least that should be quite straightforward.

Then the engine will be complete. Mag is done. gearbox is in final stage needed a couple of bushes made. Dynamo is also done.

Awaiting delivery of a kick start return spring

Cost of reprofiling the piston is about EU110 +VAT +postage So approx total £135.

Once that's all bolted up I shall pass it to my son and say now its your turn. You can put the bike together and get it running and I shall play with A65's and somewhere there's a Bantam that's 10 years overdue looking at. I don't even know where it is, it'll be like a barn find.

Piston has now been reprofiled, new rings and coated(something like Teflon I believe--don't know) and is hopefully with my son in Dortmund.

Total cost inc my outward postage £149.20. May still have to pay UK Vat.

Anyone want the details feel free to contact me.
