In the centre at the front I have a groove about 5/162 wide by 5/16" deep. I saw a service note somewhere about the groove and details for adding it but can't find the reference.

My questions is, what is the groove for? Is it for the speedo cable as I've always thought it rather an accute angle to enter the back of the speedo between the yokes.
