Tank knee rubbers

Hi.

Some help please.

I think I have an A10 tank on a B31 frame and engine as it has pear shaped badges. I am trying to fit Knee rubber tat have holes further apart  than the holes in the tank. I have been told I need the brackets to screw to the tank. I see that but how do I fit the rubbers to the brackets. I have the ones with the  metal plate inside on the back.

Do I need the ones with no plate, and push the rubbers over the raised pieces on the plate?
