Has anyone tried to fit an A7 Ali head to an A10? If so what's involved?

Combustion  chamber is smaller so are the valves. You will end up with a very high compression. Not  that it can't be done. I would have thought that it would be easier to get a Super Rocket head. The late ones had the bigger valves.

I did this back in the seventies. I blended in the difference in combustion chamber diameters to give a good squish.
Even with flat top pistons, I recall that the compression ratio was in the high nines. It gave good mid range power but lost out on top end. It needed 5 star fuel and in hot weather,  did pink at low speed.
I used it like that for a couple of years until I found a 650 head.

OK Guy's thanks for the advice.

The reason for asking was that a good friend of mine has pasted away and I'm left with two A7 Ali heads 67-1102 and a few other pieces. He did have an A7 SS Bitsa and also a 51 A10 Plunger, he was a bit of a speed merchant and I suspect he intended trying to put one of the heads on the A10 knowing him. Anyway we'll never know :(

i m running an a7 alloy head on my super rocket and runs perfectly,
blended the combustion size to 70mm and used std a10 valves and springs. but if you want the top end performance then stick to a super rocket ally head.
i hope this doesnt put up the price of a7 heads on that auction site. a10 ally heads have become too expensive for me on dear-bay.
