BSA B33 headlight switch

I am having problems with the Lucas headlight switch on my 1954 plunger BSA.

I do I remove it ?

It is held in place by a large wire clip.

How do I get access to the wire clip, there is a shield inside the housing, that is covering the switch ?

You can see the clip in this photo.

The switch is usually a tight push fit in its housing.
