A65 rocker oil feed split pin

Please can anybody help. I am building a 1965 A65 Lightning which I bought in bits and in various boxes. I would like to know where in the cylinder head does the split pin go. Can I insert it through the threaded oil feed adaptor that screws into the head from outside of the engine? Thanks in advance

I think so, from the outside in. So it's stuck in the oilway and cannot fall into the pusrods.
