Empire Star B24 1937 Rocker Pushrod Oil Feed Mystery

There is an oil feed pipe cast into the pushrod tube. This connects a hole in the crankcase barrel mounting face, to similar in the rocker box. The hole in the rocker box then has 2 drillings in a raised boss, but they are plugged with 1/8" rods. This all looks original. In the side of the raised boss there is a horizontal groove and I came to the conclusion that this boss should have 2 holes in this groove to squirt jets of oil directly into the area where the rockers and pushrods meet. (Seems logical!)
The mystery is that there are no holes to squirt the oil, and the rods plugging the holes completely seal this oil feed.
I am in the process of putting it back together after a rebore and have had a fairly leaky top end that I want to make oil tight.
This oil feed which looks like it comes directly from the pump seems to have nowhere to go and probably was a contributing factor to the leaks from the top of the pushrod tube.
I can't imagine BSA would have designed this and then blanked it off.
Has anyone got any ideas?

HELP!!

I think that these 2 service bulletins from 1937 will explain the mods to the rocker oil feed.

My rocker shaft lubrication is done from the outside, as per the notification. I have the chrome pipe is feeding both the rocker shaftS.

I can't seem to post any pictures on this site, but if you want to send me your phone number I can send you as many pictures as you need. Mine is currently fully rebuilt so internal pictures will be more challenging but can do if it's critical for you

These 2 further service bulletins from 1937 may add some more information.

On the 1937 there shall be 2 small drip-tubes pressed in the rockerbox that leads the oil out to the rockers. On my 1937 the rockerbox was very bad so I fitted one from 1938 with outer oil lines like B31 connected to the return line from engine.

On Your You can see on the rocker where the oil goes , they are welded now there should be a hole
