Hi all,

We have a section planned in the October to celebrate the A65 - 60 years on from its launch - and I'm looking for an early example for one of the features. A 1962 model would be great, but any nice, photogenic early model we could ride for a brief test would be fine. If it has an interesting back story (maybe its been in the same family since new or has undergone a heroic restoration, perhaps), so much the better.

If anyone is up for helping out, please give me a bell on 07875 736021 or drop me a line at gingersgaff@btinternet.com.

Many thanks in advance for any offers.

All the best,

Gez Kane, Classic Bike

Hi Gez,

My A65s are a bit young but have had interesting lives.  However, if you do not find what you need on the Forum try contacting the BSAOC Branches directly through their contact details in the back of The Star or found on the BSAOC website.

Dave.

Thanks to Mike and Dave. Not really looking for a trike, Mike. I'll maybe try going direct to the sections.

Cheers.

I can understand your position, But as its the only KNOWN one in the world just showing off. Its peeing oil out from somewhere.

I have one from a 1964 ex SA Police A65 Thunderbolt unfinished, Very non standard.

I have an A65TA some bits in boxes and some spread around the Shed(and probably the bathroom etc) about 90% of a bike.

So! sorry dont seem to be able to help. Joking of course and wishing you besta luk.

A65. My A65 is a 1964 model, dispatched to Cyprus in February. I bought it in 1984 whilst I worked for the UN. The RAF flew it home and it was restored in 1985. I have ridden it to Germany where I was posted and  took it to the USA and Canada for the BSAOC rally in 1990.
It will need an MOT and some tyres but this may give me the incentive to get it back up and running, too many bikes !
