Hi all, I could do with some help identifying my front forks think they are off a b31/b33.
Problem is the sliders, inside at the bottom is a metal post which the stansion locates,
It appears to be fixed but not sure. Thier does not appear to be a shuttle valve wondered
If this is part of a missing valve. The sliders are the threaded spindle
Type no screws in the bottom like my rod damper ones ,also fork top nuts don't have any
Threads inside for rod fixing .
When I dismantled them all I had inside was 2 bushes so I don't know how they are
Damped .
Thanks for any help

The stanchions have a threaded insert at the bottom with a large hole in it . The stanchions have two small hole in the sides on each one the thing that you can see at the bottom of the sliders is a fixed cone. As the forks are depressed oil is pushed into the stanchions and out of the holes, the further down the forks go the more the cone get closer to the hole and stop, the forks clashing. This gives only one way damping. Not as good as shuttle valves, but you can always fit Edie Dow type damper rods to the forks for two way damping.
