I don't have a compressor and occasionally wish I had so that I could give things a blast (eg the passageways in my carb.) I hear it's possible to buy it by the can? Anybody tried it ?  Phil

Hi Phil.

Yes, I used a £1 can of compressed air (prime use for blowing dust from computer keyboards and the like) when overhauling my Monobloc carb on my '61 B40. It worked well and I also used some nylon fishing line to probe the smaller orifices of the carb !
Perhaps like yourself, I tried to understand the finer workings of the carb once I had it stripped down and whilst I've got a better insight to how it works, the fact that the thorough overhaul resulted in the carb working far better than before, kind of outweighs my lack of  knowledge of the finer workings.
Anyway, the aerosol worked fine. One of the poundshops products I think.

Fine fuse wire is also good at probing into tiny orifices- bit more rigid than fishing line and I don't think it does any harm.
