what does the 67 parts book say? You can sometimes get an idea from that. Infact Mike ihave my book to hand and it lists wm3 18 for all but the Spit'.
Sometimes  its good not been able to sleep! Regards Dave.

Hi Dave.

Thanks for that. It was my thoughts anyway.

I'm just starting a restoration of a 1967 Thunderbolt and my books give both. I'm not trying for concourse but I would like it to be as right as possible. In truth I think with these marques concourse is a very difficult issue because there were so many almost daily variations.

However that's enuf waffle thanks again at least that is one point put to sleep.

Your so right about variations be it on a daily basis or whatever. Many can be buried deep inside the engine and remain undiscovered for decades. I refer to my own experience with flywheel bolts mentioned in a previous post, but thats another matter! Good luck with the resto Mike. Regards Dave

DAVE BRADY

Hi,

I have the revised edition of Workshop Manual and it covers '66, '67 and '68.  Page GD10 gives 19" with 3.50 tyre for East Coast models and 18" with 4.00 tyre for West Coast models.
Page GD13 gives the Thunderbolt variance says rear wheel as Lightening East Coast model, so a 19".
The other models vary a bit as well.

Dave.

Thanks to all.

I dont like 3.50 tyres on the rear(Don't ask me why cos I cant answer)just dont.

So I shall go with the 18" 4.00.
I dont know exactly how much difference the outer circumference would be, but it cant be a busting lot.
