Engine A65T/KC0 1394
Frame A50C . 1761
Setting in barn in Prescott AZ

It seems to have never been on the road, no rock dings on the wheels, frame or motor any where, original tires and wheels, no ware on motor, just aged, needs polished, excellent compression, just a few small parts missing, passenger pegs, tail light, harness stripped, everything else appears original and very little time ware, the clutch, throttle and speedo cables are all still good, don't know how but they are, it even has the original grand tourism grips never gripped but very obvious old.
Is it worth $1500?

Hi,
Looks like a year mismatch, also a A50 frame and a A65 engine. It equates to £1100 in the UK, I would buy and play with it for that sum (no one likes it, but in parts its a profit).

Best wishes...

Hello
From what I have read none of them matched until 69

ChrisG

A50C frame numbers were used in the 1966 model year so most likely the original. It was 68/69 when the numbers matched.

Hi,
The year mismatch I was referring to is the frame A50C 1761 was used 1965-66. The engine I guess from the OP is a Thunderbolt A65T KC 01394, Sept 1968.

The club dispatch records would give a more accurate appraisal.

Best wishes...

Engine and frame numbers matching started part way through the 1966 model season.

Early 1966 season frames had prefix A50C and around November 1965 the numbering changed with prefix matching the model, ie A65L. A65S. A65T. A50R etc followed by the production  number and the same number appearing on the engine case.

With the exception of some B44 models same applied to the whole range.

This particular bike does have an early 1966 frame and could have been supplied as any one of the twin models but the engine is somewhat later - KC decoding as September of the 1969 model season which is September 1968. The production number - 01394 does not look high enough - the 1969 season models started in late July 1968 at 11101 about so worth checking it again.
