HELLO ALL,

I AM NEW TO THIS FORUM, BUT HAVE BEEN COLLECTING AND RESTORING BRITISH PRE-WAR MOTORCYCLES FOR 50 YEARS. I AM STILL WORKING ON A 1926 G14 AND A 1926 LIGHT TWOPORT.
MY BEST BSA FRIEND IN LATVIA HAS A Y-13. UNFORTUNATELY HIS GARAGE WAS BROKEN INTO AND SOME PARTS WERE STOLEN, SO HE IS DESPERATELY NEEDING A FEW DIMENSIONS TO GET THE MACHINE ROADWORTHY. I AM ATTACHING A SKETCH WITH THE REQUIRED MEASUREMENTS. PLEASE KINDLY HELP IF POSSIBLE! THANK YOU.

Hi, I am puzzled about "Front down tube and chainstay connecting bolt" 33-4185/1. It looks like the "Eye" ended bolt that fits under the saddle for sidecar attachment or at the bottom of the frame front down tubes also for sidecar attachment. Also the Front down tube is nowhere near any chain. Also what is the bent "Plate" in your drawings?.
I have a 1937 BSA Y13 and whilst I can help with some measurements I am not prepared to take parts off my bike to measure them. If you want me to help as best I can let me know. Best regards

HELLO ALAN G,

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PROMPT REPLY. I HAVE RELAYED YOUR MESSAGE TO MY BSA FRIEND AND HE PROMISED TO ENCIRCLE THE APPROPRIATE PARTS ON A MOTORCYCLE PHOTOGRAPH. YOU SEE HIS ENGLISH IS NOT VERY GOOD AND MY KNOWLEDGE OF Y-13 MODEL IS NOT GOOD EITHER AND WE DO NOT LIVE NEAR EACH OTHER, SO IT WILL TAKE A FEW DAYS TO SORT THIS OUT.

WITH BEST WISHES,

Hi Juris, I'm sending 4 photos showing the frame Front Down Tube bottom "Eye" bolt with the sidecar attachment. It has nothing to do with any chain. Also photos showing the front & rear silencer connecting plates and the heavy duty plate/bracket that attaches the silencers to the bike frame under the saddle. I made these out of stainless steel because the originals, which I no longer have, were beyond saving. Hopes this helps. regards Alan

HELLO ALAN,

THANK YOU FOR THE BOTHER TO MAKE PHOTOS. I HAVE RELAYED THEM TO MY BSA FRIEND AND AM EXPECTING HIS REPLY. HE IS MOVING HOUSE AT THE MOMENT SO PERHAPS THE REPLY MAY BE DELAYED. SORRY FOR THAT.
