C15 distributor spring clip

Am in need of the cap spring wire clip for my 1959 er . Someone said a screw down the middle into the what I do not know as the cam is there and moving !- is it possible to id the wire and make one ones self ??

I think its the same as on the early distributor model B40. Very easy to make one out of a length of 1.5mm diam spring steel.
