Hi :)

My M20 forks have been damaged and re-buggered  at some stage in its obviously eventful passage through the ages.
I am shortly going to start the rebuild(actually they need to be re-made).

So were they originally welded or brazed. There is so much brass around the joints that it almost qualifies as HGV.

At this stage I am assuming brass :) :) :) but open to info from those with a greater knowledge.

Mike
they were brazed.

Luckily mine were OK so I have just painted them but this raised a question. There is a tapped lug on the front of the off-side leg which would correspond with the mounting for a cable to rod brake junction, as used on Slopers. I found however that an NGK spark plug fitted it perfectly. I thought plugs were metric threads and if so is this lug for carrying a spare plug (as per cars of the period)?

Dean Hi :)

That's what I was hoping,  as in this particular instance I have a preference for brass.

Must confess that I never ever thought about plug threads. Live and learn ;)

My son bought that Sloper.
