1969 Lightning Clutch Cable Routing

A65 Lightning, USA handlebars.  Bike was bought as a "kit," some assembly required (came in 18 boxes and a pile of steel), so I've not seen the clutch cable installed.  From all I've read, Walridge sent a cable of the correct length, yet I cannot suss its route.  Along the frame backbone the cable is far too long, atop the engine case it's also much too long, beneath the engine it's too short.  Help will be appreciated.

Hi Thomas,
                 There are different outer timing covers and clutch actuators between the covers. Can you post some images of what you have along with the cable?
