Drain plugs and level plugs

Yet another post from me - I'm on a roll.
I was just wondering: why are the gearbox drain plug and level plug separate items? Why would you ever need to remove the level plug alone? Am I forgetting something? Phil

Okay, gearbox oil draining now. Best bit was taking the bike for a quick spin first to warm up the oil.  Phil
