So, did they remove the shoes or just tell you to grease the pivots?

If they were removed, get the correct springs and you wont have problems in future!

Just remember - someone had to fit the shoes with the extra strong springs!!

Phil C

The shoes have still not been separated from each other. If I understood correctly, he suggested there's no need to change the springs until it's time to replace the shoes, then just get a complete new unit, ie shoes and springs.

Phil C

So the shoes were off the plate but still held together firmly by the springs

Phil C

I confess I am a bit tempted to replace them now, so that they are right.

I would get new springs and or shoes if they are in any way suspect. Put a big strong or a couple of cable ties around the shoes and just cut the springs with a disc cutter with metal cutting disc in. Wear eye protection in case a bit of spring should fly off!

Phil C

Yes, I've ordered some new springs today from Draganfly.

Haven't got a disc cutter but will get the old springs off somehow.

Actually i might splash out on a Dremel or whatever.  Been thinking of getting one for a while now.

Phil.

Cut old springs off with Dremel. Put new ones on. Much better. Thanks for your help.  Phil.
