B25 frame for a B40

will a B40 motor fit in the B25 frame? are they the same frame?

reason for asking , our B40 frame is badly distorted after flat tracking in America and may not be repairable so looking for options if the repairs do not work. as the bike is not recorded yet and will probably be off road use only authenticity isnt a problem.

unless someone has a spare frame lying around

Hi Chaz - You should be OK with that - If this helps - My B44VS motor came out of a B40 frame and is now nestling happily in a B25 frame (oil tank version). My B40 motor came to me in a C15 frame and that was returned to the B40 frame. All repatriations were completed without any modification or surgery. You might have to accommodate the head steady somewhat but that's pretty much it. I think that the later OIF B25 has a wider rear engine mount but even that should be straightforward. If I'm wrong on any of this someone will throw some more light on things - Merry Christmas.
