HI All, I need a new lucas wiring loom for my 1968 thunderbolt F reg, the problem i have is, is this a 1967 model registered in 1968  the 67 loom   no = 54938942
                                  68 loom   no = 54953385
could someone tell me the difference please
                                                                  many thanks .

It maybe that the front brake light switch was introduced for the 1968 year. Check your workshop manual for the correct wiring diagram and check if it has such a switch. Then check the loom to see if the relevant wires are there. Just a thought, maybe a total red herring but hey ho, worth a look.

Another possibility is that around that time the contact breaker assembly changed from the type 4CA with condenser mounted by the points to the improved 6CA type which had remotely mounted condensers, which would need additional wiring

Also change in lighting switch from a rotary type in 1967 to a toggle type for 1968.
