I am looking for a tickler lever and not having much luck. On the early A65 the side panels nearly meet between the carb and cylinder head and it is impossible to operate the tickler without removing the side panel which is a pain. A lever mechanism to operate the tickler is provided but unfortunately is not present on my bike and I am having great trouble finding one. Does anybody have any ideas as to where I might find one?

Thanks

  :) :)

In common with a lot of others I have been trying to find one of these items forever.

I brazed a long extension onto the tickler. A 4mm nail is idea size for the pirpose. I have a pic of this extension somewhere and I'll put it on a seperate post if I can find it. Its actually already on here somewhere.

I have also just emailed Amal to ask about avaiability and price. I know several people have made them and I have always intended to do so(ho ho ho)

Thanks Mike, I can not find the picture I have- will try in daylight probably in the garage, thinking I will have a go at fabricating one! I think that it was probably a BSA part, no part number on any AMAL site that I have seen.

This is from the owners manual.

I made one up myself on the first a65 I restored about 15 years ago but I cannot for the life of me remember the details. I may have a photo somewhere if I can find it. Cannot remember it being that hard to figure out and do.

Thanks for the replies, looking at the picture it does not look over complicated, a lot of trial and error but we will have a go when I have a hour or three spare!

Thanks again

I have contacted Amal and their reply is.

"We no longer manufacture or stock this item, however we believe that Burton Bike Bits have plans to make a batch. We don't know if this is actually happening".

So if that helps anyone there it is.
