The chain oiler from the engine leaves a lot of oil on the chain and down the side of the crankcase, which then makes a mess on the rear tyre and wheel. I believe its also a breather.
How can I reduce this. If fact I would like to remove it but then there would be no breather pipe to the left hand crankcase.
Any suggestion?

A lot of people just say seal it up. I also drilled the inner case and fitted a breather pipe, but I've also got holes into the crank case à last B50.

Someone suggested crimping the end up. Also was told its not a breather by someone else. One other suggestion was to remove it and stick a bolt through it to seal it up. Need someone who has actually done something to it to confirm the correct way to go!

I'm pretty sure it's not a breather. The standard crank case doesn't breath into the primary drive, only through the timed breathing on the camshaft. I've just checked the pictures of mine and there are no holes into the primary drive,
I put a squeeze of silicon into the tube and crimped it off, then sealed it to the casing with a fibre washer and hylomar.
Also, Rupert Ratio just says to seal it up, so you should be absolutely fine.
