I have acquired a pair of NOS chrome front footrests with correct nuts and bolts and they fit perfect. They come with two spacers that are about 1/4" thick. They can only fit on the inside before the nut goes on as these footrests have locating pins to match the frame. I cannot see what their purpose is ? . No sign of these spacers on the parts list or could they be for a triple. ? Thanks.

There are none on mine and they have been fitted for 13 years without problems. I would ignore them.

Are they the collars, 83-3602, shown in the 1972 A65 parts book?  Many of them are listed as for the Triumph OIF and may not have been needed for the BSA version?

Just noticed that, although not shown on the appropriate drawing for the 1971 A65, the collars 83-3602 are still listed for it. Would seem to imply that the collars were added under the front footrest securing nuts as a bit of an after thought but retained for the 1972 model. Must have been a reason for them, presumably to provide clearance for the nuts??

Thanks, I fit them without these spacers, but will keep them just in case.
