Well done Rob & Jenny on the Norfolk camp, sorry, unfortunately I could not attend due to other commitments with the twinning association, I know the weather was not too good but as per usual you pulled it off and by the look on Facebook site it was a success at the new venue.
Best wishes TTJohn

Hi,

Yes, well done to Rob and the gang at Norfolk Branch.  Despite some rain it was a most enjoyable weekend.
Perhaps other Branches could do something similar to avoid the ever increasing camping fees.  One this year is £15ppn so for us two that would be £60 without any other costs.
Space to camp or park a van et., a tap and a toilet is the minimum needed.  Add a fire pit to sit around and a supply of tea, coffee and biscuits and a DIY BBQ to top it all off.
Standing around the BBQ comparing burgers is a new dimension to the usual conversation.  There is usually someone to do a beer run to the supermarket for those in need.

I had an excellent time at the Norfolk Camp; back to basics hit the spot for me. It was my first BSAOC camp (but I've done plenty of rallies) and I'm certainly going to do more now. Well done to the Norfolk branch!

When I got home I tried on the used but excellent condition leather trousers I won in the raffle and they fit; brilliant! Mind you, I'm glad I didn't end up with the toilet seat raffle prize...  :D

Hi,

You never know you may win it next time.

Not if I hide my raffle tickets again!

I proposed this to my local branch, it did not go down very well.
Showers, plumbed in toilets and hot cooked meals.
Next they'll want to turn up on modern bsa's!

Funnily enough I may have prebooked a similar venue for next year.  All I need now is something to stand on whilst I beat them into submission!

Hi Mark,

How have you managed to insert a comment from you in what is said to be a quote from me?
It looks like I have pre-booked a venue when I assume it is meant indicate that you have.
