I looked for a torque setting, in Ratio,  for the nut on the end of the cranshaft, after the alternator rotor, but found none.  I did it up to about 50 ft lbs before my chain wrench bent.I was using this to hold the rotor.
Do you reckon this is enough?  It felt like quite a lot but rather less than the nut on the clutch assembly.

If I refit the primary chain, I may be able to lock the back wheel and do it up a bit more.

Hi,

60 for A65 rotor and 70/75 for clutch centre nut. I would imagine that as the rotor is pretty much the same it really needs to be as tight. If you have some old clutch plates, one of each, bolt them together so you can lock the clutch. It will need a means of holding it so a handle of some sort is needed.

I rest a spanner between the engine sprocket and the clutch (with the primary chain on).  Its takes a bit of fiddling to get the right spanner length but after that it locks it up for tightening.

Quote from: Barnsey on 19 Sep, 2025, 10:51 The shims arrived.   There are nowhere near enough to fill the space though!  It needs maybe 5mm of shims to fill the space between the bearing and sprocket.  Should there be a spacer to fill the space with shims for fine adjustment?

I am digging through Hugh F's videos to see what he does.

Sorry for being a bit late getting back to this.  There are three thickness to the missing spacer.  We do have them, but they shrunk during heat treatment.  I really must hone the bores and put them on our website.
