Hi everyone my Goldie was first registered for road use in the UK in 1968 which unfortunately also shows as date of manufacture, before being registered it was a track bike, I have sent them a dating certificate from the club assuming that would be enough to get the date of manufacture changed and they refused saying the club info was not enough I am now going to try and attach the letter.I hope this legible and some advice on what to do to get it changed will be greatly appreciated as I do not believe their request is available many thanks everyone Chris

The DVLA don't accept dating certificates to add a date of manufacture. If you provide the evidence they need as per your letter then they may add a note on page 1 of the V5C under "special notes" which will say something like "Declared manufactured 1956"

The attached is their long standing policy on adding date of manufacture.

I will send you a PM.
