B44ss engine in 1968 B40 WD frame

Wondered if anyone could confirm that a B44ss engine will fit straight into a B40 WD frame with no mods - pretty sure it will but wanted to check. Any views/comments much appreciated. Cheers, Andy

B44 engine should fit into the WDB40 frame as the frames for both type of machine were basically the same (WD had extra tabs welded in certain places etc..).. It's the OIF single engines you'd struggle with, as they had a wider rear casting for mounting to the frame.
