Good afternoon all,

First post on here, I have an family member who has a few motorbikes in canada , one of I which is coming across the water to the UK to me. I'm trying to work out what is its - I have the below engine/frame numbers, it's listed as a road rocket rep but would like to know what it started life out as (both the frame and engine)

frame DA10 R2098
engine A7 8699

would i be correct in thinking this puts it as a super rocket frame and A10 engine?

thanks everyone

JulianS

I think you have transposed engine and frame numbers?

DA10R is certainly a Super Rocket engine number.

The frame number will have another letter at the front, if similar date as engine it would read GA7...........

quite right! Transposed details, for avoidance of doubt:

Engine DA10 R2098
Frame A7 8699. I dont have anything else on the document so it may have been noted down wrong.

Details that i've been given put it at 1954 registration but trying to reconcile.

thanks

JulianS

DA10R 2098 is a 1960 season engine.

Julian thank you - looks like a bit of a cross breed/mongrel then :)

You would be able to find out more with the full frame number prefix.

It would be either CA7 for 1954/55 seasons, EA7 for 1955/56/57 seasons, FA7 for 1958/59 seasons and GA7 for 1960/61/62/63 seasons.

numbers would suggest that it will be a 1960 A10R super rocket . just missing the G from the frame number and all the rest fits .
1956 bsa GS DB500
1968 mk1 Rocket 3
2006 ducati 999R .

Quick look on Google images Vs the pic I have I'd be inclined to agree - thank you
