Hi there is a pretty good chance that this question has already been answered but as a new member trying to find my way the system I did't see it.
I have just tried to put my 1958 Golden flesh back on the road after a 2 year total rebuild and have hit a snag, a large oil leak from the back of the clutch. When I took the primary apart and removed the clutch assembly I found that the collar, which acts as a screw seal in the sliding plate had become displaced from the center boss and was hanging from the gearbox shaft doing nothing. On further inspection I can't see what is supposed to hold the collar in place and stop it just sliding off of the center boss.
Any suggestions on how the collar should be retained?

Hi, I don't really appreciate your question as I think I have the same clutch and don't have a problem, although my Flash is a '54 and there were variations over the years. It sounds like an assembly error or a bit missing, so I am attaching 3 pics (from Draganfly and Haynes) in case you don't have them all, each with a slightly different view so that you can at least make sure you have the right bits and see how they go together.  I assume that at 1958 you have a swinging arm frame as the plunger had gone by then. If you have none of these, someone may have cobbled something together or there was a Triumph type added but this was in '59. Hope this is of some help.
