Hi Guys.

Kick start does no longer return.So;

When taking the engine cover off, can i do so without removing the contact breaker assembly off?  Worried about loosing the timing.

i dont expect to see any oil dripping out from the outer casing, as gearbox oil is further in the engine. is that correct.

Sorry to ask these simple questions but any help /guidance /tips would be appreciated.

Cheers.
Bfn.stay safe

Hi Mike.
  You will loose oil unless you can lean the bike over to the left. Points can stay,you may have to remove the wire depends how much slack there is.Be carefull when you put the cover back on not to damage the points with the points cam. Also watch the cluch rack does not fall out.
  Good luck

Thanks Kev for your input. Should i decide to work on the bike on the centre stand(bike upright/safer) then is its the gear box  oil i drain away prior to removing the cover?.
Clutch rack i you mention must be located behind the clutch  arm/cable ?
cheers

Hi Mike
  Yes its the gearbox oil comes out slowly easy to catch in a tray.The clutch rack should stay in the cover keep the cover vertical or on its back,
will only come out if you rotate the clutch cable arm, bit fiddly to put back in the right position.
