A while ago I had a look at my front brake and it turned out someone in the past had put it together incorrectly. Thanks again, Julian, for pointing it out.

As I've got my back wheel off at the moment (1965 B40F), I thought I'd have a look at the rear brake. Does it look all okay?

I notice that, unlike on the front, the linings are positioned centrally around the circumference of the shoe, if you see what I mean, rather than to one side. Why are they different from the front ones?

Thanks in advance.

Phil.

Also, I notice there aren't any little metal pads on the pivot. Should there be?   Phil.

The front brake shoe linings are offset by design.

The rear brake shoes are non floating, linings not offset and they dont have steel pads.

So it looks like they are okay. Thanks Julian.
