M20 oil tank

Hi

Did BSA change the gearbox on the late M20 and did they also change the oil tank???

Hi Mike, they brought the speedo drive out of the top of the gearbox (earlier M20's had this driven from the front wheel) and put a hole through the oil tank to accommodate the speedometer cable.  All the best, Glenn

Thanks. That answers my next question as well about the speedo drive, because I've just put the later gearbox in. However I can still drive the speedo from the front wheel.

Hi again. I've found the type you mean on Ebay so I know what I'm up against, I figure that If I can borrow one to copy it should not be a very difficult job to modify mine.
