Hello  BSA Brothers..
Earlier this year I bought a complete ( but in lots of pieces)  1966 BSA C15 for something to do in the dark evening coming up.. well they have just arrived and I have been tinkering,,, and have question.............

If you can picture the cylinder head from above  (with the plug hole at 6 o'clock) and look for the rocker box stud  hole in the 11 o'clock position  (to the left of the push rod tube hole)......well there is no stud hole............
I have the other 8 stud holes  (3 in the centre,  then holes at about 8 o'clock  10, 1, 2 and 4 o'clock but nothing at 11 o'clock ..........
Is it a factory cock-up or is the head off something else..........or am I just dumb

thanks in advance
Tony

Yes, there should be one at eleven Oclock, should be nine studs, I think you will have to go to the W holesalers for that one. :) :)

Go into Ebay BSA C15 Cylinder Head, loads of pictures that you can enlarge.

I started to take some pics of the head to show,, and then the penny dropped,,,,,
there is no hole,,,there is no sign of a hole,,,,, when I looked from the top..
but if I bend my neck and look from underneath I can see machining marks,,,,,,

so have now decided that the threads of the stud hole must have been damaged and previous owner filled in with weld,,,machined excess off the underside,,,and leveled the top.................but looking from the top I defy  you to find any kind of sign that any work had been done,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

magic.................
