Hi Folks
As I choose to only ever ride my 1929 BSA Sloper in daylight hours (and on dip beam), do I legally need to have a main beam available? I fully appreciate that the "best" solution might be to have both dip and main beam available, but for reasons I don't want to bore you good folks with, I'd really like to understand if I can legally ride in daylight hours with only dip available. Can anyone help with this?
Cheers

I think I know the answer but do you want to trust another armchair lawyer. Always best to go to original sources...

There appears to be "funny" here. As you will be aware there is no need to have any lights at all, which would of course mean no night time or inclement condition riding. However if your bike was originally built with only one beam option then you would be perfectly legal(he says?????).

Otherwise you are only required in bad weather to ride with dipped beam.

But as previously stated----go to the experts.
